Privacy Policy
1. Basic policy
The app processes and stores everything on your device: your diary entries (tags, notes, and photos), plans, habit checks, characters, and settings. Your diary is never sent to an outside server. There is no cloud sync.
2. Accounts
You don't need an account to use the app. We never ask for personal information such as your name or email address.
3. Information stored on your device
The following information is stored only in your device's storage. It is never sent outside, and you can delete it at any time with the app's delete features or by uninstalling the app.
- Your diary entries (tags, notes, and photos), plans, and habit check history
- Settings such as tags, habits, characters, themes, and language
- Your Look Back lock passcode and secret question answer (we never store the original text; only a hashed value is stored)
Photos are resized on your device when saved and kept in the app's own storage area. The Look Back lock is a feature to prevent viewing; it does not encrypt the saved data.
4. Information sent outside the app
4.1 Showing ads (version with ads only)
"PonNikki with Ads" uses Google AdMob (provided by Google LLC) to show ads. When ads are shown, the following information is sent to Google LLC.
- Information sent: advertising ID (AAID / IDFA), IP address, device information (model, OS version, and so on), and information about ad views and interactions
- Recipient: Google LLC
- Purpose: delivering and showing ads, limiting how often ads are shown, preventing fraud, and measuring ad performance

The one-time purchase version "PonNikki" does not include the ad SDK at all, so none of this information is sent.
Your diary (tags, notes, and photos) is never sent for advertising (in both versions).
4.2 Users in the United Kingdom (version with ads only)
If you use "PonNikki with Ads" in the United Kingdom (or in the EEA or Switzerland), the app shows Google's consent form (Google's User Messaging Platform) before it loads ads, and asks for your consent to the uses described in 4.1.
- Legal basis: your consent. For some purposes listed in the consent form, Google and its ad partners may rely on their legitimate interests; you can object to these in the form.
- Your choices: you can consent, not consent, or choose purposes under "Manage options". If you do not consent, you can still use every feature of the app. Ads may be limited or not shown.
- Changing your choice: you can change or withdraw your consent at any time in Settings > About this app > "Ad privacy choices".
- Your rights: you have the right to access, correct, and delete your personal data, to restrict or object to its processing, to data portability, and to withdraw consent. We do not keep your data on any server, so requests about ad data are handled by Google (https://policies.google.com/privacy). If you need help, contact us (section 10).
- International transfers: the information in 4.1 is processed by Google LLC in the United States and other countries, under Google's safeguards.
- Complaints: you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) (https://ico.org.uk/make-a-complaint/) or to your local data protection authority.
5. Reminder notifications
Reminder notifications are local notifications handled entirely on your device. The app does not connect to an outside server to send them.
6. Exporting backups
The backup feature creates a backup file on your device when you ask it to, and you choose where to save it with your device's share feature. The app never sends it anywhere automatically. You are responsible for keeping the exported file safe.
7. Sharing with third parties
Except as described above, we do not share your information with third parties.
8. Children's privacy
The app is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
9. Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we will announce it on this page.
